Dr. Iwatt was confirmed dead yesterday at the

University of Calabar Teaching Hospital where he has been receiving treatment from the gunshots injuries he sustained from suspected cultist who shot him in his office at the department of Microbiology. How Sad.

The university don was shot on the 6th of May by suspected cultists three days to his birthday. How further sad.

A 300 level student of Microbiology who begged for anonymity told TODAY.ng that the lecturer was a strict disciplinarian who has been receiving death threats for a while as his name keeps appearing in the students toilet near the pavilion lecture theatre. That is when Sh*t got real.

Another student also said, “he just finished building his own Laboratory at Atamunu, Calabar south recently. He died because he was doing his job. But he was stubborn and spoke recklessly. All the same he didn’t deserve to die.”
