2014 School Of Maritime Technology Postgraduate Scholarships, Australia

The school of maritime technology in Australia awards a number of postgraduate scholarship Australian and overseas students planning to study in James Cook University. 

Interested students wishing to study Marine Biology are to apply for these scholarships. Scholarships are competitive and funding benefits are in the form of either stipend (living allowance) or as research money.

The scholarship includes

Australian Postgraduate Awards with Stipend : These scholarships are awarded to Australian citizens only (or, in certain circumstances, permanent residents) who are enrolling as full-time students in an MSc (by research) or PhD program. It include a Stipend of A$24,653 per

annum plus thesis and relocation allowance where applicable. Scholarship duration is for 2 years for MSc, 3 years for PhD.

James Cook University Postgraduate Research

Scholarship (JCUPRS): schoklarship are awarded to Overseas students and includes tuition fees. It include a Stipend of A$24,653 per annum plus thesis and relocation allowance where applicable. Scholarship duration is for 2 years for MSc, 3 years for PhD.

International Postgraduate Research Scholarship (IPRS ): awarded to Overseas students (except New Zealand) of excellent academic standing and research capacity, enrolling as full-time students in an MSc (by research) or PhD program. The Scholarship covers tuition fees and health cover costs for Scholarship holders, and health cover costs for their dependents. 2 years for MSc by Research, 3 years for PhD.

Postgraduate Research Scholarships funded by ARC grants and CRC’s: scholarship is awarded to Australian citizens and permanent residents with over one year stay in Australia, who are enrolling as full-time students in an MSc or PhD program. In exceptional circumstances, outstanding overseas students may also be considered on the recommendation of the Head of School. It often include stipend at A$16,135 per annum plus thesis and relocation allowance where applicable. As awards are given to students of exceptional research potential to the centre concerned, research funding is often provided.

The Noel and Kate Monkman Postgraduate Award in Marine Biology : awarded to Australian citizens and permanent residents with over one year stay in Australia, who are enrolling as full-time students in an MSc or PhD program. These are perpetual scholarships, and as such are only available as a previously-benefited student finishes.
